Red Sandalwood
Scientific Name: Pterocarpus Santalinus
Red sandalwood is a prized botanical traditionally used in Ayurvedic skincare preparations. It contains naturally occurring phenolic compounds and antioxidants that contribute to its reputation as a skin-conditioning ingredient. Historically, it has been used in face packs and herbal formulations intended to improve skin clarity and soothe discomfort caused by heat and environmental exposure. In soap making, red sandalwood contributes a distinctive natural colour and a refined botanical character. We include it for its traditional significance and its ability to complement formulations focused on maintaining a balanced and refreshed complexion.
