Ramacham (Vetiver)
Scientific Name: Chrysopogon zizanioides
Ramacham, commonly known as Vetiver, is an aromatic grass native to South Asia and widely used in traditional cooling and skincare preparations. Its roots contain naturally occurring sesquiterpenes and essential oil components that give Vetiver its distinctive earthy aroma. Traditionally, Ramacham has been valued for its refreshing and cooling character, particularly in tropical climates. In soap formulations, its primary contribution is sensory, creating a clean, grounded and nature-inspired bathing experience. The ingredient also reflects a deep connection to Kerala’s botanical heritage. At Origin, Ramacham is used to bring freshness, tradition and aromatic depth to everyday cleansing rituals.
